Science is telling us that we need to change our lives. How should we do that? Should we allow a ‘paternalism light’, in the sense of a evidenced based environmental and climate policy, to nudge us into self-imposed docility? Or should we, regardless of the consequences, fight for our individual freedom? Are there socio-technical experiments beyond these strong alternatives, how we can shape our existence, and which expand our understanding of democracy and/or society?
